Parker IM review, cheap Parker that makes me enthousiastic again

Parker IM white complete fountain pen

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Parker IM white boxI got my first fountain pen at high school, a plastic Parker Jotter. For years I had a lot of fun with this fountain pen and I wrote a lot with it. Unfortunately, the plastic cap eventually broke down and life goes on. After that it went fast, I had a Parker 25 and then a Parker 45, Parker 180, Parker Vector and Parker Frontier fountain pen from the cheaper parker fountain pen range.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

My history of affordable Parker fountain pens

Parker IM white side of boxSo the question should actually be: which Parker pen didn’t I buy? No fountain pen of Parker wrote as fine as my first Jotter, not even my second Jotter. The 25 has never written well, the nib is too stiff. The Parker 45 is a very moderate 51, the 180 is too thin, the Vector doesn’t have a nice hold on the metal parts, it’s too short without the cap posted and too long with the cap. And finally, the Frontier with a very moderate nib. In short, the affordable Parkers are generally of very poor quality. Often there are also strange edges between the barrel and the nibholder so you can’t place your fingers as you would like. That really could be a lot better with the affordable Parker fountain pens.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1860″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Finally a good and affordableParker fountain pen again?

Parker IM white inner boxWhen I finally got a Parker Duofold I was won over again, as you can read in my review of the Parker Duofold fountain pen. But that is not really a fair comparison, because Duofolds really belong in a different price range. It took some time, but Parker has been busy making competitive products again in recent years. The Parker IM 2017 model, is a fountain pen which I am happy to get excited about again. They are available in different colours and versions. The cheaper fountain pens are made of steel and quite heavy. The more expensive ones are made of aluminum and are relatively lightweight.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Dull colours?

Parker IM white fountain pen with accessoriesParker doesn’t dare to come up with really hip colors yet it seems. It all remains very dull. Nevertheless, I find the white version very nice on the eyes as well as the slightly more expensive light blue version, with rectangular cubes. The pens are well in hand, both with and without cap when you write. Strangely there is a difference in weight between the different versions of the Parker IM fountain pen.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2666″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.lacouronneducomte.nl/luxe/?tt=2387_12_284090_&r=%2Fwebstore%2Fmain%2Findex.php%3Flanguage%3Den” el_class=”bannerbreed”][vc_single_image image=”2714″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.lacouronneducomte.nl/luxe/?tt=2387_12_284090_&r=%2Fwebstore%2Fmain%2Findex.php%3Flanguage%3Den” el_class=”bannersmal”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

How well does the Parker IM write?

Parker IM white nibStrange enough I don’t experience any difference in writing pleasure. Both pens write fine. Of course it is not on a comparable level as a Parker Duofold or even the Parker Sonnet, but of course that’s where the price difference is. The Parker IM with Medium nib writes great,Parker IM white with converter in it’s own league. What I am also pleased about is that the pen’s click system works really well, you don’t have to be afraid that the fountain pen will easily come loose from the cap and leak ink. Parker uses its own cartridges. You can also use a refillable converter.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
