How well is the Faber-Castell Ambition balanced?
The Ambition by Faber-Castell is a special fountain pen because you can only hold it by the sleeve of the fountain pen. Other fountain pen lovers might find this challenging, but because the sleeve is quite thin you can hold this fountain pen pretty well. Personally I like the Faber-Castell the best with the cap on the back, even though the balance gets a little bit too far back. If the center of gravity lays too much to the front you have to push the pen upwards, if it’s too far back you have to push the pen too much downwards. You might get a cramp in your fingers if the balance of a pen is not quite right for you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1329″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Design of the Faber-Castell Ambition
My Ambition is made out of coconut wood with a chrome cap. Personally I think this design is a winner. The Fountain pen is very elegant and has a very modern feel to it. The coconut wood sleeve is less even than the pear wood version of the E-motion because of the black stripes on the dark brown wood. We found out the clip is made out of one piece with the cap which also contributes to the sleek design. The Faber-Castell Ambition doesn’t fit in every pocket because it’s quite long. 14 centimeters and with the cap on the back to write it gets close to 16 centimeters.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
The steel nib of the Ambition
The nib, that’s made out of steel writes perfectly. I own a M-sized nib, but afterwards it would have been better to get a Fine nib because these nibs write perfectly. The nib is quite supple, you can easily adjust between soft and hard lines. Most nibs are quite flexible, but made for daily writing and signing papers. For the real calligraphy it’s better to order a special nib.

The filling system of Faber-Castell
The Faber-Castell can be filled with normal fillings. You can also use a converter in these fountain pens. The clip on the back is fine, you can carry this pen around in all possible ways. Because of the length of this fountain pen it can be better to carry it around in your bag or briefcase on occasion.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
