29th Dutch Pen show 2017 in Tilburg

Fountain pens at the Tilburg Pen show

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today I went to my first ever pen show. And it was awesome. Maybe it wasn’t as big as the penshows in San Francisco or other places. But it was really nice to see so much people who share the same hobby together. We looked at some pens, and Albert even bought a beautiful red Nakaya pen, I’m sure the review of this pen will follow shortly![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Location of the pen show

The pen show was held in Tilburg at the Brabants Natuurmuseum. The entry fee was the same as the museum, so while we were there we made a tour through the museum too. I was born in Tilburg, so in my youth I visited this museum quite often. I think it has been 8 years since I’ve been there for the last time, and a lot has changed. First of all I grew quite a lot bigger, and second of all the Scription (museum about the art of writing, typing, print and ink) closed its doors. This part of the museum was very appropriate for the pen show, but the setting was nice. The show was split up into two separate rooms, and there were a lot of booths where both pen collectors, traders and shops could display all their pens. I didn’t buy a pen today, I’m still looking for my first good fountain pen. Not sure what to buy still.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”2666″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.lacouronneducomte.nl/luxe/?tt=2387_12_284090_&r=%2Fwebstore%2Fmain%2Findex.php%3Flanguage%3Den” el_class=”bannerbreed”][vc_single_image image=”2714″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https://www.lacouronneducomte.nl/luxe/?tt=2387_12_284090_&r=%2Fwebstore%2Fmain%2Findex.php%3Flanguage%3Den” el_class=”bannersmal”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The people

I think the last time I met so much new and lovely people in one day was when I started at my new job last may. There were people from all walks of life at the pen show today, and it was so nice to see everybody shared a common interest. Lots of sponteaneous conversations about pens, and all kinds of other stuff to talk about. And I finally met some people that i’ve talked to via the forums and facebook groups. Which was also nice to put a face to the name, and all very lovely people! We also talked to some other bloggers, and some shops here where we will set a meet with later next month, we’ll keep you posted on that! There were some collectors present that had an awesome collection to show, and I’m pretty sure it’s not their whole collection.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Written by Nick

At school he already wrote with a fountain pen. The most things happen digitally these days, if there is something to be written it's always with a fountain pen. He's relatively new at collecting fountain pens. Nick became a fountain pen enthousiast quite quickly.
